Websites for small local businesses

Booked from a phone, before they call anyone else.

I build small business websites that show your services, hours and prices, and make calling or booking take one tap.

Track record

  • 9live sites and apps, every one still online
  • 5of them clinics and practices
  • Feb 2024building sites for paying clients since
  • Allstill maintained after launch

What your site has to do

Someone opens your site with one question. If the answer is not right there, they go back to the search results and try the next place.

  • Let them call or book in one tap

The phone number is a button, not a line of text you have to copy out. The booking link sits where the thumb already is. Nobody should have to hunt for it.

    Live onClinicM.czNClinic.cz

  • Say what you do, in their words

Your services written the way a customer would ask for them, not the way the trade writes them.

    Live onVidere2.cz

  • Show your opening hours

Open now, or closed until Tuesday. A visitor should not have to phone you to find out.

    Live onClinicM.cz

  • Show where you are

Address, district, and a map link that opens the app already on their phone.

    Live onVidere.cz

  • Give them a reason to trust you

Qualifications, the people, real photos of real work. Whatever you actually have, shown plainly.

What your kind of site has to get right

Different businesses, different first question. Where I have built this kind of site already, it says so.

  • 5 of these built

    Clinics and practices

Patients want to know what you treat, which branch to go to, and whether they can book without phoning. The procedure has to be explained without the jargon, and the reassurance has to come before the detail.

    Live onVidere.czNClinic.czOcniPetriny.czClinicM.czVidere2.cz

  • One of these built

    Independent professionals

You are selling judgement, not a product. The site has to establish what you are qualified in, scope the work you take on, and open a direct enquiry without a form that feels like paperwork.

    Live onVlastimilBilek.cz

  • Barbers and salons

Price list, who does what, and a booking link that still works when it is tapped from Instagram. Photos of real cuts beat any description.

  • Restaurants and cafés

The menu as text on the page, not a PDF nobody can read on a phone. Hours, the table booking, and where to park.

  • Trades and local services

What you fix, the area you cover, and a phone number in the first screen. Most of these visits end in a call, not a form.

Three sites, and the problem each one solves

All three are live and I still maintain them. Under each one is the problem it had to solve and what it does about it.

Dental clinic

NClinic.cz

The problem
A general dental page buries the one thing the clinic is actually known for.
What the site does
The oral surgery specialism leads the page, the scope of care sets expectations before the first visit, and the phone number stays one tap away on every screen.
Open the live site
Nclinic dental clinic homepage with its treatment overview and contact details. On a desktop
The same NClinic.cz page at 420 pixels wide, the way a visitor sees it on a phone. On a phone
Ocni Petriny ophthalmology homepage introducing the practice and its diagnostics.
The same OcniPetriny.cz page at 420 pixels wide, the way a visitor sees it on a phone.
Ophthalmology, Prague

OcniPetriny.cz

The problem
Anything to do with eyes reads as clinical and slightly frightening, so people put off booking.
What the site does
The practice talks like the people who work there instead of like a hospital, the diagnostics are still spelled out in full for anyone who wants that detail, and getting in touch never takes more than a tap.
Open the live site
Vlastimil Bilek consulting profile page for air protection advisory work.
The same VlastimilBilek.cz page at 420 pixels wide, the way a visitor sees it on a phone.
Consulting profile

VlastimilBilek.cz

The problem
Nobody searches for air protection advisory until somebody tells them they need it, and a site that never changes stops being worth finding.
What the site does
The qualifications and the exact scope of the advisory come first, so an enquiry arrives already knowing what is on offer. Behind the site is an admin area where he writes and publishes new articles himself, whenever he wants, without going through me.
Open the live site

All 9, on desktop and on a phone

8 live client sites and one Android app of my own. Every preview is a real capture of the live page, at 1600 and at 420 pixels wide.

How working with me goes

No forms, no sales call, no jargon. Five steps, and you see it running early.

  1. We talk

You tell me what the business does, where it is, and who you want walking through the door.

  2. I map the path

What a customer has to see, and in what order, before they book or call. This is the part that decides whether the site works.

  3. You see a direction

Layout and look, on a real screen, early. Changing things is cheap now and expensive later.

  4. I build it phone first

Because that is where most people will open it. The desktop version comes out of the same work.

  5. We launch, I keep it running

Live on a server I maintain, with the contact paths tested on a real handset. Updates, fixes and small additions after launch.

The engineering, and what it gets you

This is the part you should not have to think about. Here is why it matters anyway.

  • It loads before they give up

Pages are built as plain files, so nothing has to boot up when someone taps your link on mobile data in the street.

    Live onVidere.czOcniPetriny.cz

  • It works on an actual phone

The contact paths get tested on a real handset, not only in a browser window squeezed down to phone width.

    Live onClinicM.czNClinic.cz

  • Messages reach your inbox

A form on your site sends to an address you already read, not to a dashboard you would have to remember to log into.

    Live onHlasovyRobot.czVPN.free

  • The server is mine to fix

Linux, Nginx and Docker, set up so there is nobody to chase when something needs doing.

    Live onVidere.czVPN.free

My own app, open source

I also ship my own software

Open-source Android uptime monitor that runs every check from the phone in your pocket, with no server and no account.

  • Android 8.0 and up
  • Apache 2.0
  • v3.0.2
  • No server, no account
  • Tokens stay on the device
  • Full-screen alert until acknowledged
  • Sideload, not on Play

Tell me about your business.

Send me what you do, where you are, and what you want someone to do when they land on the site. I come back with what the site actually has to do and what it would take. If your current site only needs fixing, I will say that instead.
